“It’s Mang. Don’t be afraid.” There was no further move in the room.
“Mang? You’re scaring me.” Mei started feeling that something was wrong, terribly wrong. “What are you doing here? Turn on the light.”
“That would be unnecessary. I’m here to help you.”
“Help me?” Mei was confused, rubbing her eyes, trying to think, but failing to make sense of it. “Why now? What time is it?”
“Oh, late. Very late. Long after midnight.”
“Listen! I don’t need your help. Get the hell out of my bed.” Mei’s hands instinctively guarded her breasts, ears were strained to catch Mang’s movement, feet moving cautiously towards the nearest edge of the bed.
